Strong fire consumes warehouse in Plaza de la Tecnologia in CDMX

The Heroic Fire Department of Mexico City (CDMX) attended a fire in the Technology Plazalocated on El Salvador Street in the Centro neighborhood in the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office.

The brigade members received the report about the flames around noon on January 18. When they arrived at the property, they verified that the fire started inside a warehouse at the top of the plaza.

At 12:11 p.m. the Heroic Fire Department reported that the situation was under control. However, his stay in the property was prolonged for a few more minutes.

“We inform that at this moment the fire has already been extinguished and we have begun to carry out removal and cooling work at the site,” could be read in the latest update on the incident.

Around 3:30 p.m., the emergency department reported a new fire in the Centro neighborhood, about which it did not provide more details.

In November of last year a strong fire consumed Oasis Square, an import and major center in the Historic Center of Mexico City. Civil Protection reported that the fire started in a sports shoe warehouse located on the top floor and that, as a precaution, they were 500 people evacuated.

Elements of the Investigative Police (PDI) approached the scene of the events to look for possible witnesses, locate video surveillance cameras, private and public, that will clarify what happened on the afternoon of November 16, 2023.
