The governor of Morelos, Cuauhtémoc Blancoconfirmed the murder of the Cuautla councilor, the latter was attacked with a firearm when he was in a gym located on Capitán Marcos Urzúa street in the center of Cuautla.
Through a message on social networks, the governor of Morelos described the events as a “cowardly murder” and wrote a message along with the image of a black bow:
“I deeply regret the coward murder of Alfredo Giovanni Lezama Barrera, who during his lifetime served as councilor of the municipality of Cuautla. To friends and family I send my sincere condolences for such a painful loss. Rest in peace,” said the president on Thursday, January 4.
After the attack against Lezama Barrera, the authorities implemented a operational with the aim of finding the possible attacker(s) without so far there being reports of detained people related to the events.
For his part, the senator of the Republic for Morelos, Angel Garcia Yañezreported the death of the councilor and called on the authorities to strengthen security in the entity. “The situation of insecurity in which our State finds itself is painful,” he wrote.
