The match played at the Ricardo Saprissa stadium resulted in a bitter defeat for San Carlos by 2 to 1 in the duel corresponding to date 17 of the Costa Rica – Torneo Apertura 2023 tournament. Saprissa will host Alajuelense on the next matchday. On the San Carlos side, they will play at home against Puntarenas. Saprissa will seek to beat its eternal rival in a new edition of the National classic.
After the match, the local team is left with 40 points and first in the standings. While the visit has 11 units and occupies eleventh place in the tournament.
