Lord of Miracles LIVE: last procession of ‘Cristo Moreno’ will take place this Wednesday, November 1

October, also called the ‘purple month‘, represents for thousands of Peruvians a season full of religious activities, which are practiced with fervor in different parts of the country. The days of this month are also marked by festive dates that have to do with tradition and culture of Peru.

October is a month with many traditions, but there is one that stands out and it is the procession of the Lord of Miracles, which is eagerly awaited by its faithful. Its roots go back to a history that has endured throughout the centuries. Legend has it that a slave painted the sacred image of ‘Christ Moreno’ on an adobe wall, which withstood a strong earthquake in the Peruvian capital.

The Metropolitan administration announced that this Wednesday, November 1, some stations will remain closed for the ‘Lord of Miracles’ procession.

– Jirón de la Unión Station

In that sense, the route that the regular service A buses will follow will change. Buses that follow this route will deviate their route and skip the mentioned stops. In that sense, they will leave the Central Station in the direction of the Dos de Mayo and Caquetá stations.

They will also pass through España and Alfonso Ugarte avenues. In that sense, people heading to Bolivia, Uruguay and Guillermo Dansey avenues can take this line; as well as Plaza Ramón Castilla, Jirón Huancavelica and Sancho de Rivera and Enrique Meiggs avenues; also along the routes of the Yellow Line and the Panamericana Norte. During November 1st, the Metropolitano will only enable the España, Quilca, Dos de Mayo and Caquetá bus stops.

Meanwhile, the regular service route C will also have changes. The buses that follow this path will only reach the Central Station and will no longer go to the Ramón Castilla, Jirón de la Unión and Colmena stops.

The Brotherhood of the Lord of Miracles He announced that the procession will begin on Tacna Avenue and continue along Chancay Avenue and Emancipación Avenue. As in all editions, the blessed walk will arrive inside the Las Nazarenas church, on Tacna Avenue.

It is expected that more than 20,000 faithful reach the streets of downtown Lima to participate in this event.

People who cannot attend should know that the ‘Christ Moreno‘ will be broadcast through the official Facebook and YouTube accounts of the Brotherhood of the Lord of Miracles of Nazarenas.

As is known, this is the fifth and last route that will be carried out around the Christ of Pachacamilla. During the past four editions, the beginning of the event took place with a mass on Tacna Avenue, in the center of Lima, where hundreds of faithful came.

In the last departure, carried out on October 28, 2023, it was the Archbishop of Lima, Monsignor Carlos Castillo, who led the mass. During the religious celebration, he asked believers to pray to unify Peruvian society.
