US Defense Secretary reiterates Israel’s right to defend itself

Miami, Nov 5 (EFE).- The US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd J. Austin, reaffirmed this Sunday the “strong commitment” of the United States to Israel’s right to defend itself.

Lloyd held a conversation today with the Israeli Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant, in which he was informed of Israel’s most recent operations in the Gaza Strip and that the former took the opportunity to also ensure the “commitment” of the United States to “deter ” to anyone seeking an escalation of this conflict.

The US Secretary of Defense also “emphasized the importance of protecting civilians and providing humanitarian assistance” in this war, according to the Defense Department statement.
