Lacalle Pou went viral after a video in which he is seen sitting on a sidewalk with a friend in Punta del Este

The president of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle Pouwas once again the center of attention after a video of him talking to a friend on a sidewalk went viral.

The curious event took place on a commercial promenade in the coastal city of Punta del Este, where the president arrived walking, greeted a friend and sat on the sidewalk to talk with him, without apparent concern for his safety.

The episode caught the attention of several passersby present at the scene, who decided to capture the moment with their mobile phones. The images quickly went viral on social networks, generating astonishment among users at the informality of the head of state.

In the video released, it is observed how Lacalle Pou was approached by a young man who asked him for a photo, to which the president agreed before continuing with his talk on the sidewalk, without the presence of any security team.

“Look at the president sitting there, like just another passerby. Only. Is a crack. How nice not to owe anything to anyone, huh!”, the person who recorded the video published on the former Twitter can be heard saying.

At the beginning of January, Lacalle Pou also became a sensation on social networks, after he was filmed by a user in the port of the coastal city. The images, reported by the local media FM People, show the president taking some photos while he prepares to leave on a motorcycle and receives greetings. “How good it is!” shouted one of the visitors to that emblematic area of ​​eastern Uruguay.

Lacalle Pou He arrived shortly after noon at the place to embark on the Mailhos family yacht and sailed until the afternoon of January 2, Maldonado radio reported. When the crossing was over, the president returned to the streets of the port, where he had parked his high displacement motorcycle.

He left the port area alone, without official vehicle or custody.

The last days of the year, Lacalle Pou was also seen in the exclusive spa Jose Ignacio. In the photos of him he is seen with one of his closest officials, the Secretary of the Presidency, Rodrigo Ferrés. This official recently assumed that position after the resignation of Álvaro Delgado, who is the favorite candidate of the ruling party for this year’s presidential elections. Before that, he was the deputy secretary of the presidency.

In the photos, Lacalle Pou appears greeting some workers in the area and walking with those close to him.

At the end of the year, a user of the social network X had filmed the Uruguayan president from a vehicle at a service station. He was on his motorcycle, filling up with gas and chatting with the driver. Security guards do not appear in the images either.
