The Galician Electoral Board denounces Yolanda Díaz to the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office for a ‘tweet’ on election day

The Galician Electoral Board has transferred to the Supreme Court Prosecutor’s Office a complaint against the second vice president of the Government and leader of Sumar, Yolanda Díaz, for a message published on the social network ‘X’ – formerly Twitter – during the morning of Galician elections last Sunday that they understand that they could have incurred a violation of the Electoral Law due to an alleged appeal to vote for their political party. “Let no one stay at home. Every vote counts to achieve the change we deserve. We are very close. If Sumar Galicia enters, Rueda falls,” Díaz published at 12:19 p.m. on Sunday on his ‘X’ account, a message that was denounced by the PP before the Galician Electoral Board. Now, due to Díaz’s status as a qualified person, the Galician electoral authority is submitting this complaint to the Supreme Court Prosecutor’s Office regarding a possible violation of articles 51, 53 and 144.1 of the Loreg, which establishes penalties of three months to one year in prison or fines of six to 24 months for people who carry out acts of electoral propaganda once the campaign period has concluded. COMPLAINTS AGAINST THE BNG The PPdeG has also denounced the head of Communication of the BNG, Xabier Campos, for a publication in to the Superior Prosecutor’s Office of Galicia.
