Lisbon, March 18 (EFE).- Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes recognized this Monday that he has the “capacity to do more and better” on an individual level at Manchester United.

“At United, collectively it has not been a successful season, but individually I recognize that I have the capacity to do more and better, but I am not worried because my commitment and dedication are always at their maximum,” Fernandes said in a press conference with the national team. From Portugal.

What was experienced at Old Trafford contrasts with the experience in the Portuguese team, in which Bruno Fernandes has been one of the strongholds of the coach, the Spanish Roberto Martínez.

Fernandes, 29, contributed with six goals and eight assists to Portugal’s almost perfect qualifying phase for the German Euro 2024: ten games, ten wins, 36 goals for and only two against.

“It was without a doubt the best qualification I have ever had, but also the best for the national team,” in which there are “a series of factors that bring out the best” in him, he commented.

Among them, the “support” of his teammates, who make his “qualities stand out,” he added.

Portugal will begin preparing for the Euro Cup with matches against Sweden on Thursday in Guimarães (northern Portugal) and on Tuesday the 26th against Slovenia in Ljubljana.

Regarding the tournament, Bruno Fernandes made clear his intention to repeat the Portuguese conquest of 2016: “The dream is very present in our heads (…) We want to give that joy again.” EFE
