The Yandex Go taxi service may be blocked in Uzbekistan if the company Ridetech International BV, which represents Yandex Go in Uzbekistan, does not register as a tax resident of the country by December, the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan reported in its Telegram channel.
The tax committee report indicated that in September of this year, Ridetech International BV was required to fulfill the following conditions within two months: registration as a tax resident of Uzbekistan to conduct its activities and pay the relevant taxes; integration with the information system of tax authorities and provision of automatically generated fiscal receipts to clients.
It is also reported that if these requirements are not met by December 1, 2023, the tax committee will contact the Ministry of Digital Technologies with a request to block the use of the Yandex Go electronic platform as an aggregator in Uzbekistan.
Yandex Go is the largest online taxi service in Uzbekistan and has been operating in the country since April 2018. The service provides taxi services in Tashkent and nine other cities of Uzbekistan and has more than 80 thousand drivers cooperating with it, according to the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan.
