The Lefortovo District Court of Moscow decided to arrest 62-year-old Konstantin Seleznev for two months. This step was taken after accusations of disseminating deliberately false information about the activities of the Russian Armed Forces. The pensioner faces a penalty of up to ten years in prison.

The incident is related to two posts published by a man on the VKontakte social network. The first post concerned events in the Ukrainian village of Bucha, and the second related to the awarding of one of the units of the Russian army for its participation in the Northern Military District.

Seleznev will remain in custody until December 3. According to the court, his arrest is connected with serious charges of disinformation and the dissemination of deliberately false information regarding the Russian Armed Forces.

Earlier, a Moscow court decided to arrest the mayor of the city of Kizilyurt in Dagestan, Magomed Magomedov, on charges of embezzlement on an especially large scale. More about this read the material Public News Service.
