Putin instructed to consider the issue of construction of the North Siberian railway

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to consider plans to create a new railway in Russia. This was reported on the official website of the Kremlin.

The task of the new highway will be to connect the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra with the Baikal-Amur Mainline. It will be called the North Siberian Railway.

“The government of the Russian Federation, together with the government of the Kemerovo region – Kuzbass, the federal state budgetary institution “Russian Academy of Sciences” and the open joint-stock company “Russian Railways”, consider the issue of building the North Siberian Railway,” says the order of the head of state.

The President expects a report from the government on this issue by March 1, 2024.

Previously reportedthat Vladivostok and Khabarovsk can be connected by a high-speed railway.
