Olympic champion Elena Vyalbe met on Thursday, October 5, with the governor of the Samara region Dmitry Azarov. The topic of conversation was the development of sports in the region. 63.ru reports this.
The skier highly appreciated the roller ski track that had recently opened in the city and proposed organizing another one so that she could train not only in winter, but also in summer.
“Another rollerski track, I think, would be a big help. Perhaps somewhere near Togliatti, perhaps in Togliatti itself,” the publication quotes Vyalbe as saying.
Azarov, in turn, instructed the regional Ministry of Sports to consider the corresponding initiative.
Earlier it was reported that the head of the Russian Ski Federation (FLGR), Elena Vyalbe, criticized the actions of Olympic champion in athletics Elena Isinbaeva.
